What's my story?
I'm a documentary style photographer, wife to an awesome husband, mom to two active kids, living in Maryland with with a handful of pets.
I'll spare you the nitty gritty on why I got into photography and why I think it's so important to have great pictures of your 'real life' family. We can talk about that for as long as you'd like some day. But I have to warn you that I'll probably end up sounding like a crazy person once I get started. For now just know that making pictures for families makes me crazy happy and fulfilled.
Just so you don't think I'm all about the camera:
- In college, I majored in modern dance. The I realized that when I got to be 24, I'd be "over the hill" in terms of a dancing career, but I'd still need to eat. So I became a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and now save lives instead. Not as glamorous as dancing, but probably a wise choice in the long run.
- I'm allergic to cats, so I got a parrot. And then another one. And then I got two cats because my kids really wanted them. (Ok, it was me, I admit it--*I* really wanted them.) I really love them even though they make me miserable.
- I also really love Cadbury eggs and have been known to hoard them at Easter time. I hide them from myself so I can enjoy them for a long time after they're gone from the stores. But I always remember where they're hidden and my plans for Cadbury eggs at Christmas time have never worked out. I have seen Halloween Cadbury eggs recently, but it's just not the same for me.
Take a look around the website and see for yourself how fun a photo session with me can be. I try really hard to have your session seem like it's more hanging out with a friend than it is getting beautiful pictures. At the end of the day, it's really all about connecting with the people you love and care for. It's about the memories. It's just a bonus that you'll get something tangible to pass down to your kids so they'll be able to really see how much they've been loved.
